Classes will be broken into two levels: Open Level and Challenge Level. Full pass holders are welcome to attend any class, but we recommend reading the descriptions ahead of time.

Open Level classes will be accessible to anyone who knows the basics of Lindy Hop. We recommend these classes if you want a comfortable pace and bite-sized material.

Challenge Level classes will challenge dancers of all levels to expand their horizons. We recommend these classes if you want push yourself mentally and/or physically.

You can lead, you can follow, now let’s put them together! Join Chelsea and Calvin as we learn some cool ways to switch roles mid-dance and explore what makes a switch moment that feels good, clear, and oh so buttery smooth.

For this class, you should already be familiar with dancing both roles: dancing for entire songs, leading and following swingouts, and doing it all comfortably to medium tempos. No experience switching roles in the middle of the dance is required.

  • Open Level
    Saturday, 7:30-9 PM
    Ballroom

Learn some flashy partnered moves and tricks to spice up your partnered dancing. No air steps. The moves will have an intermediate skill floor, but all have a relatively high skill ceiling for the more physically skilled or adept. Partner not required but encouraged.

  • Challenge Level
    Saturday, 7:30-9 PM
    Classroom 2

For our more regular switch dancers out there, this challenging class will push the way you view your switch dancing. Chelsea and Calvin will explore momentum and shape, and how switch dancing influences our technique – whether we’re leading, following, or in that liminal space between the two.

For this class, you should be comfortable with a variety of lindy hop and Charleston patterns, dancing to faster (e.g. 180bpm+) music, and incorporating musical choices and variations – all in both roles.

  • Challenge Level
    Sunday, 7:30-9 PM
    Ballroom

"Flight 920 with non-stop service from Seattle to Los Angeles."

Learn air steps from the ground up. We'll teach all the fundamentals and processes for being able to train and perform air steps safely. We'll teach several air steps of various difficulties so there's something to learn for everyone. Partner not required but strongly encouraged.

  • Open Level
    Sunday, 7:30-9 PM
    Classroom 2

“Communication and Groove in Closed Position”

This class will focus on groove variations according to the rhythm of the music in partner dancing, with the intent of enabling communication.

Through different songs at medium to fast tempos, we will find a common pulse with our partners while learning to maintain autonomy of footwork.

We will explore a range of connection points in order to make it easier and more accessible to share ideas with our partner.

Let’s face it: We cannot truly partner dance without teamwork and agreement. Our relationship is cumulatively energized by mutually enthusiastic regard.

Students will work with basic movements and exercise strong opinions as they strive for their “hot damn” dance.

  • Challenge Level
    Sunday, 3-4:30 PM
    Classroom 2

How much influence can followers have on the dance? How can leaders respond to the follower's influence to create a back-and-forth dialogue? In this class, we will explore how both partners can contribute equally to a conversational dance that goes beyond just responding to each others' footwork variations.

We will dive into nitty gritty partner technique and try to answer the question, who is actually leading and who is actually following? And no, this is not a switch class!
