This year, we’re featuring classes in Lindy Hop, Solo Jazz, & House, organized into four distinct class types:
Lindy Technique Classes will focus on body mechanics, footwork, and move sets. Get into the nitty gritty with instructors that have spent countless hours refining their craft.
Lindy Inspiration Classes are an opportunity for instructors to share what inspires them in the dance. Think vintage dancer studies, groove, musicality, and cross-style influence.
Solo Classes will feature a wide variety of styles from Swing Jazz to House, Bebop & anything else our versatile instructors want to share.
Specialty Classes will offer an opportunity to work on specific skills in a more intimate environment. Think advanced switch dancing, advanced Balboa, floor work, etc.
Norms & FAQS
Everyone is welcome to take the classes that interest them, but we encourage you to read and respect the suggested prerequisites.
You may attend any class with a dedicated partner. Please guide others to rotate past you if you choose to stay paired.
Please take care of your bodies as needed during class. Sitting down to watch, stepping out for self care, etc. are all allowed as we understand that dancers have to balance body care with getting the full event experience.
We will provide dance role wristbands to help facilitate role switching in classes. Dancers are welcome to either fully switch roles at any point in a class OR try the other role with any willing partner in rotation.
You are responsible for your own learning in class. If rotation doesn’t support your learning style, consider stepping aside to take notes or continuing with a dedicated partner. We're intentionally not using track placements in order to prioritize autonomy and access. Help us keep this model successful!
